Konkani Natak Sabha Mangalore Episcopal City Deanery Inter Parish Konkani Singing Competition held

Mangalore, 21 Jul 2013: In commemoration of the Golden Inter Parish Konkani Singing Competition of Konkani Natak Sabha, Mangalore Episcopal City Deanery Inter Parish Singing competition was held on Sunday July 21st, 2013 at Don Bosco Hall here.

 

The Singing Competition was inaugurated by renowned singer Anil Patrao, Derebail by lighting the lamp along with President of Konkani Natak Sabha Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza (capuchin), Vice President Dolphy Saldanha, General Secretary Sunil Menezes, Treasurer Prem Lobo, members of competition committee Adolphus Cutinha, Raymond D’Cunha, Felix Sequeira and Jossy Theodore.

 

Speaking on the occasion Anil Patrao congratulated the Konkani Natak Sabha for conducting the Konkani Singing Competition in the Deanery level to bring out the talents of the children and elders and wished all the participants every success.

 

 

In both the categories 45 Competitors from Cascia, Jeppu, Bejai, Urwa and Valencia parishes of the Mangalore Episcopal City Deanery participated in the competition.

 

The following competitors are qualified for Semi final:

Below 10 years:

Solo – Dyani Vinola D’Souza, Cascia and Chhris Angela D’Souza, Bejai
Mixed Group: Jennica Sonia D’Souza and group, Cascia

 

10 to 15 years:

Solo - Anson Rodrigues, Valencia and Prerana Fronteiro, Jeppu
Duet - Ovin Peter Theodore and Frenith Varun D’Souza, Cascia
  Lisha Pereira and Delisha Rodrigues, Valencia
Mixed Group - Lisha Pereira and group, Valencia
 Janissa Merl D’Souza and group, Cascia

 

Above 15 years

Ladies Solo - Oshin Theodore, Cascia and Jasmin Vilma D’Souza, Bejai
Gents Solo - Arun D’Souza, Jeppu and Anil Rupesh D’Souza, Cascia
Ladies duet - Viyona D’Souza and Oshin Theodore, Cascia,
Gents duet - Samson Coelho and Anil Rupesh D’Souza, Cascia

Edith D’Souza from Angelore, Anil Patrao and Alwyn D’Cunha from Derebail are the judges for the competition.

 

Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Prem Lobo introduced the judges, Dolphy Saldanha compeered the programme and Sunil Menezes proposed vote of thanks.

 

Prize distribution ceremony for the qualifier of Semifinal was held after the competition. The Prizes were distributed by Parish Preist of Thokur Parish Fr Richard Lasrado, along with President of Konkani Natak Sabha Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza. Raymond D’Cunha announced the results.
