Mumbai: Vasai Konkani Welfare Association stages Dabazo, Celebration to Packed Audiences at Suburban

Mumbai, 11 July 2013: Vasai Konkani Welfare Association (VKWA) organized a Konkani programme called Dabazo, a celebration at YMCA Hall, Manikpur, Vasai, here on Saturday July 6. In spite of heavy rains theater lovers thronged the venue and enjoyed the show in a jam-packed hall.
Leslie Rego the anchor and all the artists made the crowd to be interactive to Clap, Cheer, Yell, Applause, whistle and enjoy the show. All the people remained till the end of three- and-a-half-hour non-stop show.
Fr Ramesh D’Souza, assistant parish priest of Manickpur was the chief guest of the programme.
Fr Reginald Tauro, assistant parish priest of Loyola and Clement Lobo, president of Konkani Kala Manch were the guest of honour.
Fr Ramesh D’Souza inaugurated the women’s wing of the Association.
Mable Santhumayar was nominated as the first president and Priscilla Pinto as the secretary of women’s wing.
The programme started with the prayer dance by Rachel D’Souza and Andria Saldanha.
President Ancy D’Souza Paladka gave an welcome address and informed that the association will celebrate the Monti Fest on Sun, 8-Sep-2013 at 6.30pm.
Vincent D’Mello and his troupe sang the theme song "Dabazo". The artist participated in the song were Henry Lobo, Juliana, D’Silva, Reshma D’Souza, Vinita, Wilson D’Sa, Christine Aranha, Blanch Alvares, Viola D’Mello, Albert D’Costa, Benny Menezes, Della Antonios and Emilda. The team also presented another song "Jai Konkani".
The anchor Leslie Rego and Dolla Mangalore maintained the hilarious mood among the audience through their non-stop fascinating jokes. The song "Vasayantlea Sorv Igorzani Konknni Mis Zai" (We want Konkani Mass in all the churches in Vasai) sung by Victor Concessao was given a overwhelming thumbing response by the entire crowd. He also presented other songs "Mobile" and "Dubaichem Zeeta" in association with Kenny.
Antony Tauro attracted the crowd with his melodious voice through his songs ’Manglura’, ’Haka Rochlaim Kityak Lagun’ and ’Lavina’.
Kolavari Fame Rayan D’Souza mesmerized the crowd with his unique crowd pulling style with his songs ’Anjea Sarkem Chedum’, ’Visron Tuka Somia Hanv Jiyelom’ and ’Konkani Kolavari’.
Kenny was as usual a great crowd puller presented the songs ’Mhaka Novro Zai’, ’Dubaichem Zeeta’, ’Musumbio’ and ’Kurlio’.
The special attraction of the programme was non-stop dances by "Advitiya Dance Company" with different unique themes. The Choreographer Kushal Suvarna achieved great applauses for all his dances. The dancers Roylie Santhumayar, Nilesh D’Souza, Gaytri, Shakil, Varsha, Ajay, Aishwarya, Chandana and Swati gave a great performance. Lancy Almeida, Mira Road accompanied with the instruments.
The Guest of Honour Mr. Jossy Menezes honoured all the artists with a shawl. Fr. Ramesh D’Souza honoured the group singing team and its leader Mr. Vincent D’Mello. Mr. Clement Lobo honoured the choreographer Mr. Vishal Suvarna and its entire dance team of Advitiya Dance Company. President Ancy DSouza Paladka compeered the stage programme.

200 Consolation Prizes were given to the tickets ending with No: 56 The programme ended with the singing of National Anthem Jana Gana Mana.
