Bangalore: SSLC results - Girls outshine boys; Udupi third, DK slips by 5%

Bangalore, 6 May 2013: The result of SSLC examination held during April this year has been announced. This information was given by Kumar Nayak, secretary of Karnataka Secondary Education Board, at a press conference held here on Monday May 6.
Total pass percentage of the students stands at 77.47 percent.

Chikkody district has topped the state with 89.86 percent. Mandya and Udupi have been placed second and third respectively. Bidar district has been last in the ranking list, said Kumar Nayak.

Dakshina Kannada (DK) district has slipped down with a pass percentage of 78.77 percent, a fall of over 5 percent from last year’s 84 percent.

It was also informed that Bangalore student Sudhindra who scored a total of 622 marks in the examination has bagged the first rank.

The girls have outperformed the boys this time once again, with a pass percentage of 82.30 percent as against 73.25 percent of boys.

Three students have scored 621 marks, among whom one is report to be from Mangalore.

In all, 35 high schools have registered zero pass percentage, said Kumar Nayak.

The supplementary exams will be held on June 17.
