Newly elected members of Belle GP felicitated by the Parishioners of Moodubelle

Moodubelle, 27 June 2010: Mrs. Jacintha Aranha who was elected for the fifth time as the member of the Belle Grama Panchayat and also elected as the President on Friday, 25th June 2010 and Mr. Gilbert D’Souza who was elected as the member for the second time to the Belle GP were felicitated in St. Lawrence Church on Sunday, 27th June 2010 after 7.30 am Mass.

 

Fr. Joswey Fernandes, Parish Priest of Moodubelle Parish in his message  congratulated both Mrs. Jacintha Aranha for being elected as the President of Belle GP and Mr.Gilbert D’Souza as the member of the Panchayat. He hoped that under their leadership the Belle GP will work for the development of the village. He presented a flower bouquet to Mr. Gilbert D’Souza. Mrs. Jacintha Arnaha was honoured by Fr. Joswey Fernandes by presenting her a shawl and Mr. Henry Fernandes, Vice President of the Parish Council presented her a bouquet on behalf of the parish community for being elected as the President of Belle GP.

In her response for the felicitation by the Parish Community,  Mrs. Jacintah Aranha said that she has been in the political field for the last 25 years and she has not done great things to deserve any honour. However, she promised that as the President of the Belle GP she would work sincerely for the betterment of all the people of the village irrespective of religion and caste.

Fr. Paul Sequeira compeered the programme and welcomed the guests and gathering.

Another parishioner of Moodubelle, Mrs. Vinnie D’Souza of Marne was elected as the member of the Manipura Grama Panchayat.
