SMMKC Sharjah organized fun filled Picnic-2013

Sharjah, 26 Jan 2013: Picnic -2013 organised by SMMKC Sharjah at National Park Sharjah on 24th January was full of fun and entertainment for the participants.  People played games, acted, sang and even dressed up their brides in a fun filled outing held here for Mangalorean Konkani community.

The picnic started with a prayer by SMMKC Assistant Co-ordinator Cynthia Goveas followed by welcome note by Co-ordinator Lawrence D’Souza.  Picnic was symbolically inaugurated by Lawrence D’Souza and Cynthia Goveas with a game of ‘Dog and the bone’. Roshan D’Silva started the proceeding with warm up games and songs.  The participants were divided into 4 groups.  Teams selected their leader and name for their group.

 

Different types of games were played in the morning session by the teams like Dodge Ball, Filling bottles using sponge, Passing the ring, Driving test, Chaddi Relay, Communication etc.  Games were conducted for children where all kids below 12 years of age with great enthusiasm.

 

 

 

Afternoon session was stared with a quiz followed by Group activity.  Tug of war raised the tempo to the next level.  All teams participated in the picnic with great team spirit and tried their best to get the title of winners.  Uzwad team led by Deepak D’Silva stood first among four teams. Housie was conducted and prizes were distributed at the end.

Breakfasr, lunch and high tea was served to all participants.  Games were conducted by Roshan D’Silva, Godwin D’Souza, Sheela Carlo, Valerian Alva and Dinesh Correa supported by all SMMKC volunteers. 250 people attended the picnic and it was a fun filled outing for all.
