“DREAMS”, Mechanical Engineering students association inaugurated at SMVITM

Udupi, 01 March 2012: Shri. Konduri Laxminarayana, Group General Manager (HR), MRPL, Mangalore, chief guest of the function opined that ‘Dreams that needed to try something new and to achieve success. To achieve the dreams, we need hard work, but also the right attitude’. He was speaking the gathering after inaugurating “DREAMS”, the Mechanical Engineering students association at Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, Udupi on 29th of February 2012 at 2:30 PM.
Prof. H. K. Vishwanath Rao, Ex – Director, SMVITM, and a prominent Professor by profession congratulated the Principal and the students for the good initiation. He advised the students to conduct various activities to enhance their hidden talents.
Principal of the institute, Dr. Mohandas Bhat, giving his presidential remarks mentioned that our students are doing well academically, but also in this competitive world, co-curricular activity plays a major role. To bring out the talents, these associations are definitely needed and everyone will witness the activities conducted by associations formed by all the departments in the forthcoming days.
Mr. Rathna Kumar, Secretary and Mr. P. Srinivas Thantry, Vice President of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, Vice Principal Prof. Kishore Baglodi were present at the occasion.Prof. Vivekanad B. Huddar, President of ‘DREAMS’ & HOD of Mech Engg department briefly outlined the importance and activities planned for the complete development of the students in the forthcoming days. Mr. Melwyn R Castelino, Staff Coordinator enlighten the importance of departmental associations and advised the students to plan such an activities so that they can contribute their might to the welfare of the society.
“DREAMS” – Vice President Mr. Vishwadarshan, IV Sem Mech - spoke about the origin of the association. Mr Hardik, IV Sem Mech introduced the chief guest. The programme commenced with the invocation by Mr. Preetham, II Sem. Mr. Allen, IV Sem Mech welcomed the gathering while Mr. Narasimha Pai, IV Sem Mech thanked all those who made the programme a grand success. Mr Sampreeth & Mr Allen, IV Sem Mech compered the programme.
