BSKBA Gokul celebrates Men’s Day, talent show

Mumbai (RBI), Mar. 12: As part of the centenary celebrations of BSKB Association, Gokul Mumbai, "Men’s Day" was celebrated in a very colorful manner on Sunday (Mar. 09) at Gokul Saraswati Auditorium under the concept and guidance of President Dr. Suresh S. Rao.
Vice President Vaman Holla, General Secretary A. P. K. Pothi, Trustee Member B. Ramananda Rao and other office bearers inaugurated the cultural program with the lighting of the lamp.
As part of the cultural program, the guests from Bangalore, comedian Dundhiraj, gave a light comedy, Shashikant Acharya and Dr. Radhakrishna of Kala Kadamba Arts Center, Bangalore, presented the historical story of "Punyakoti" of Karnataka, a cow who offered herself as food to a bull in order to fulfill the oath that "truth is our mother and father", in the form of a Yakshagana dance. Little Prithviesh performed well as a calf. Then, little artists Reyansh and Parth performed their dance "Narasimha" by the family of Dr. Madhusudan Rao, and a discourse was held on daily religious practices by Vidwan Damodar Sharma.
Members from 5 years to 80 years of age participated in diverse and colorful cultural programs such as a percussion performance of tabla, ghatam, and mridangam by Navneet Rao, Pawan Rao, Srinath Somayaji, a Yakshagana-Bharatanatyam fusion story "Kansa Vadhe" by Shashikant Acharya’s team, a comedy play "Pativyathe" written and directed by Rajaram Acharya, a tenku tittu Yakshagana called Garuda Garvabhanga by Gokula Yakshagana artists under the leadership of H. Lakshminarayana and in collaboration with Geetambika Yakshagana Mandali. Krishna Bhat, Karnataka Bank DGM Rajagopal Bhat and H. Seetharam Acharya sang film and lyrical songs in karaoke music. All the artists were felicitated by the association’s president Dr. Suresh Rao and the office bearers with shawls. Similarly, Dr. Raghunandan, a member of the association who has made great achievements in the field of employment, was also felicitated with shawls.
The program began with a prayer song by Parel Srinivas Bhat. Vaman Holla welcomed and delivered introductory remarks, and Ramaprasad Rao, who sponsored the program, honored Mulundu with a shawl and a memento. Men’s Day Celebration Committee Working President Y. Gururaj Bhat and Sangha Joint Secretary Y. Mohan Raj delivered the speech. State Secretary A. P.K. Pothi delivered the vote of thanks.
