Bellevision Bahrain celebrate children’s day

Manama, Bahrain, 21 November 2011: It was a day to remember for all Bellevision Members, as the children’s day was celebrated with various contests like Fancy dress, Singing, Elocution and Baby show for children of different age groups. These contests were held to give an opportunity to children to showcase their talents.

 

The program started with prayer by Ashton & Ashel Castelino. The Entertainment secretary Mr. Sunil D’sa welcomed Bellevision members, participants & invited guests. The invited guests were, Entrepreneur Mr.Simon Machado & Mrs Prescilla Machado, who are well-known for their charity & social work and Mr. Edward Noronha, a businessman and well wisher of Bellevision Bahrain.
In presidential address Mr.Joel D’sa applauded the hard work put in by Mr.John D’souza, Marita Sequira and team to put up this event, and requested all the members to extend their whole hearted support to the Mg.comm. to give many such programs in the future.

 

Nirmala Fernandes, Asst. Entertainment secretary introduced the event convener Mrs. Veera Fernandes, who has worked hard to make this event possible in spite of her teaching responsibilities.

 

The Convener introduced the three esteemed judges for the contests, Fancy Dress, Elocution, singing & Baby Show. First Judge: Mrs Mini Roy, teaching for the past 20 years at the Asian School, Bahrain, Trained in Dance, art and also school student councilor. Second Judge: Mrs.Anita Sajan, teaching for the past 20 years at the Asian School, trained in classical singing and carnatic music, Third Judge: Mr. Ostin Monthiero, professional musician, trained guitarist and well versed in many musical instruments, Winner of Bahrain Mangalorean Voice contest.

 

 

After elaborating the criteria for judging the contest the convener introduced the Master of ceremonies for the event, Miss Hazel Jane D’sa & Miss Reshel Fernandes, They have done a splendid job of their given responsibilities.

 

The contest was held in two different groups, Juniors and Seniors.

 

There were 11entries for Fancy dress competition – Junior Group and the winners are:

1st Place: Elroy Mendonca
2nd place: Beula Sequeira
3rd place: Shonith D’souza

 

There were 9 entries for Fancy dress competition – Senior Group and the winners are:

1st Place: Ashel Castelino
2nd place: Ashton Castelino
3rd place: Jolveen Mendonca

 

There were 6 entries for Elocution competition – Junior Group and the winners are:

1st place: Evan Fernandes
2nd place: Elroy Mendonca
3rd place: Steesha D’sa

 

There were 10 entries for Elocution competition – Senior Group and the winners are:

1st place: Jason John D’sa
2nd place: Jolveen Mendonca
3rd place: Calvin D’almieda

 

There were 7 entries for Singing competition – Junior Group and the winners are:

1st place: Kushi Shetty
2nd place: Steesha D’sa
3rd place: Criselle D’souza

 

There were 6 entries for Singing competition – Senior Group and the winners are:

1st place: Ashel Castelino
2nd place: Jason D’sa
3rd place: Ashton Castelino

 

The main attraction of the evening was The Baby Show, there were 8 entries.  All the kids stole the lime light and won the hearts of all present.

 

The winners of the Baby show are:

1st place: Shishir Shetty
2nd place: Reis Nathan D’souza
3rd place: Ethan D’souza

 

Secretary Mr. Ivan D’souza gave the vote of thanks to all those who contributed to the success of the program. A buffet dinner was served at the end of the program.
