Mangaluru: Vibrant Annual Sports 2025 held at Athena Institute of Health Sciences

Mangaluru, 24 Feb 2025: The annual sports and athletic mMeet of Athena Institute of Health Science was conducted on February 24 at Mangala Stadium, Mangaluru.

 

The inaugural programme began by invoking God’s blessing through a prayer song by I year BSc(N) students. Dr Ashith Shettian, trustee of Athena Institute of Health Sciences presided over the event. Kavana Poojary, lecturer, AIAHS extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Prof Sr Deepa Peter, principal of Athena College of Nursing, Dr Nandini M, principal of Athena Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Prof Sunitha Lobo, vice principal, Priyanka D’Souza & Viola D’Souza SNA advisors, Praveen Kumar & Karunakaran physical education directors were present on the dais. The faculty of the nursing, allied college and the bandmaster Vijay Olivera were present during the event.

 

The programme began with a march-past led by the college band followed by the athletes, all the batches of allied courses, GNM & BSc nursing students.

 

Dr Ashith Shettian delivered the presidential address and declared the sports meet 2025 open by hosting the college flag and releasing balloons.

 

Sr Deepa Peter in her speech motivated the students to give the best to participate in all the events with passion, perseverance and enthusiasm.

 

 

The Krida Jyothi was done by the best athletes of the institution and the torch signified the spirit of the true sportsmanship. The students representatives then pledged the oath which was administered by Viola D’Souza.

 

Events each for men and women category were conducted and a few events were also conducted for the staffs of the college involving active participation and enthusiasm. The winners were honoured with I, II & III prizes after each event. Medals and certificates were given away at the valedictory programme.

 

Sr Deepa Peter honoured the winners. Priyanka delivered the vote of thanks and the meet closed by lowering the college flag and concluded with the college anthem. The programme was compered by Rosemaria and Sampritha of IVth BSc nursing students.
