Free Cancer Checkup Camp organized at St. Joseph’s Church, Belman

Belman, 13 Dec 2022: In association with the Indian Cancer Society, Community Medical Department of the KMC Manipal, Sparsha-Sampada Udupi, Catholic Women’s Organization, Jnanodaya Mahasangha and Health Commission, Catholic Sabha of Belman Unit a Free cancer Checkup Camp was organized in the premises of St. Joseph’s Church, Belman on Tuesday, 13 December 2022.
The Free Cancer Checkup Camp was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Frederick Mascarenhas by lighting the lamp. Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s Church, Belman. Mrs. Shaila Lobo-Head of the Indian Cancer Society, Dr. Nivethas of KMC Manipal, Stanley Fernandes-Coordinator of Sampada were present on the dais.
In his message, Rev. Fr. Frederick Mascarenhas expressed gratitude to the organizers of the camp for having the camp at Belman as it would benefit a large number of people. Dr. Nivetha in her address expressed satisfaction at the arrangements and facilities provided to conduct the camp. Stanley Ferandes in his speech said that by organizing such programmes many people will be able to understand the symptoms of cancer and take necessary precautions and timely treatment to deal with the disease. He further aid that in modern times diseases like Blood Pressure, Diabetes and Cancer have been on the increase and by organizing such camps awareness about the diseases can be spread among the people and preventive actions can be taken.
Mrs. Severine D’Sa welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Lynet Prema D’Cruz proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs. Reema Auroza compered the programme. Mrs. Jacintha D’Sa-Animator of Sampada cooperated in conducting the camp.
