Mumbai: Renowned theater artiste Mohan Marnad chosen to best Karnataka Nataka Academy-2018

Mumbai, 15 Dec: Mohan Marnad, renowned theater artiste, playwright, director of Mumbai was chosen to confer Karnataka Nataka Academy Award – 2018.
Karnataka Nataka Academy announced the Awards at Bengaluru, on Friday, December 14. The veteran theater artiste P Gangadharswamy Mysuru was selected to confer Lifetime Honorary Award. Twenty-five theater artistes were also chosen to confer the award, among them R Prabhakar Kalyani from Udupi district and Usha Bhandary from Dakshina Kannada are more prominent. The award comprises Rs 25,000 cash each, citation letter and mementoes.
About Mohan Marnad
He was born to Honnappa Shetty and Saraswati Shetty couple, at Moodu Marnad, near Moodbidri, Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka on February 21, 1964. He began taking interest in one-man acting since his early childhood. He studied up till Class VI in his native place, and migrated to Mumbai where he worked in canteens and restaurants to survive. He completed SSC studying in Free Night High School at VT, here. He finished B Com from Siddardth College, Church Gate, here.
He has already made his mark in theater, movies and TV serials as artiste and director in Mumbai. He is the recipient of several awards already.
He is settled at Bandra, here with wife Seema and daughter Manavi.
