Manipal: WGSHA felicitates meritorious students

Manipal, 09 February 2011: Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA), a constituent institution of Manipal University, celebrated its 25th Annual Day here on Saturday with the usual gusto. It was a memorable day for WGSHA having completed a quarter of a century.

 

The growth had been truly phenomenal as projected by principal of WGSHA Parvadhavardhini Gopalakrishnan in her annual report. S.C. Sekhar, senior executive Vice-President of ITC Welcomgroup, spoke.

 

Chancellor of Manipal University Ramdas M. Pai lauded the efforts of WGSHA and its international tie-ups with Sommelier Guild of the U.S. and with Disneyworld U.S. for internship. He said the establishment of the Centre for Excellence in Hospitality and Tourism Research was a great step taken by the college.

 

Sarmishta Revanoor receiving the cheque for Rs. 51,000 from S.C. Sekhar, Senior Executive Vice President, ITC Welcomgroup, at the 25th annual day of Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA) in Manipal on Saturday.

 

The ITC-Welcomgroup sponsored cash award of Rs. 4.5 lakh was given to meritorious students. Sarmishta Revanoor bagged Rs. 51,000 for coming first overall .
