Manipal Radio - Enlightens the Region on Indian Republic

Manipal, 254 January 2011: To air stream the awareness on the Indian Republic Day in the region, the Community Radio of the Manipal Institute of Communication 90.4 FM Manipal Radio hosted an Inter-School Quiz Competition on “Know Your Country” – Rasa Prashne in Manipal.
Four schools around the expanse participated in the competition in which Madhav Kripa School, Manipal was judged as the winner of the Quiz. The runners up were the English Medium High School, Indrali followed by Government School, Sarlebettu and Christ School, Manipal. The winners and participants will be felicitated on 29th January on the occasion of MIC Annual Sports Day on the MIT Grounds in the presence of the entire institution.
The quiz was organised by the Broadcast Media Students of the Manipal Institute of Communication under the guidance of Mr.Shyam Bhatt (Co-ordinator - Radio Manipal), Mr. K. Padmakumar (Faculty Incharge) and Mr. Peter (Sound Engineer). The quiz anchored by Tashika Thangamma, was of three rounds, consisting of an audio round too.
Sharing his experience, Dadaphir, a participant from Government School Sarlebettu says ‘It was a fun filled unique experience to participate in a radio quiz’.
The community radio is the best way to reach the rural populace of the area. The bilingual quiz conducted in English and Kannada caters to all the listeners of the region. The show will be On-Air on the occasion of India’s 61st republic day on 26th January 2011 at 6 PM in the evening. “We have been regularly working to uplift the people of Manipal expanse through the audio medium of community radio” says the co-ordinator of Radio Manipal Mr.Shyam Bhatt.
