Four teams make to the final of Karaval Milan Konkani Quiz in Dubai

Dubai, 12 April 2013:  Karaval Milan, an association of Karavali Parishioners organized the Konkani Quiz Competition successfully.    The four teams made it to the final out of 12 teams participated in this most eagerly awaited interesting competition.  Initially two prominent teams made it directly to the final stage round i.e. Bellevision Association and USWAS.  The three teams ended up with tie and had to re-appear for the super round and the team were Udenthichim Neketram, Omjurchem Dive and Udyawarites, UAE.  However, finally Udenthichim Neketram, Omjurche Dive made it made it to the final.

 

Earlier Nanu Marol Thottam welcomed the teams and wished them good luck.  A delicious break fast was served prior to the beginning of the quiz.  Nanu Thottam then welcomed the quiz master Gladson Almeida (Brahmmawar) who especially flown from Qatar to conduct this prestigious contest.  Naveen Sequira, President of Karaval Milan offered flower bouquet to Gladson D’Souza and Rony Bayndoor, former President of Karawal Milan passed on the quiz question folder to Gladson Almeida.
Gladson give some simple rules to follow and requested all the 12 teams to follow the rules and make the quiz more friendly than a exam type. 

 

 

 The teams Participated in the contest were:
Uswas Shirva, Emirates Pangalites, Udenthichim Neketram, Omzurche Dive, Pearls of Mangalore, Bellevision, SFX Kutam Mudarangady, Konkan Bells Belthangadi,  Little Flowers Mukamar,  Udyavaraites UAE, Konkani Milan and Katapady Konkans.
The quiz was in Konkani and was interesting and mixes with various subjects such as prominent personalities, Konkani awards, websites, singers, association related news, Mangalore Airport, Mangalore Culture, Konkani riddles, Konkani authors, poets, writers, singers and konkany way of life.  It was a fun loving contest and all enjoyed the contest.   Though this was the elimination round, all teams participated in a very friendly manner and no one bothered who won or lost but contributed equally and appreciated the winning teams.

The participants also appreciated namely Godwin D’Souza from Bellevision, Dolphy D’Mello from Emirates Pangalites and Robert Fernandes for Udyavarites.

The final round will be held on 17th of May 2013 will be held at the Rashid Auditorium and also a wonderful Konkani drama will be staged by Karaval Milan titled:  Shimti Nathullo Kolo.
