Vamanjooreans Monthi Festh in Dubai

Dubai, 21 Sep 2015: A leading community based association of UAE, Vamanjoorians UAE, celebrated a fun-filled nativity of Mother Mary at Bangalore Empire hotel here in Karama, Dubai. The program started with a hymn, ‘Naman Moriye’ by Cynthia Latha and by offering flowers to Mother Mary, followed by a prayer and a cultural program leading up to the traditional ’Novem Jovan’, which was served in the traditional manner.
Fr. Walter D’souza, former Assistant Priest of Vamanjoor church and now Parish Priest Shakthinagar Parish, was also present for the program. President Johnson Monteiro welcomed him with a bouquet. Fr. Walty led the prayers and blessed the gathering. This was followed by the drinking of blessed Novem. Fr. Robert Lasrado Assistant Priest of St Marys Dubai, addressed the gathering.
Following the spiritual ceremony, the crowd was kept entertained with many games, dances, songs, quiz and a lot more. Games conducted included Housie Housie, Spot games etc.
Dances were performed by the Party Spinners led by Nixon and team, Jadon Pinto, Joyston and Orelia, Lenita Noronha and Sianna from Feat Beat Dance Group.
Beautiful songs were sung by Cynthia Latha, Shanthi Saldanha, Jenitha Pinto, Lidwin Cutinho, Glen Carlo, Francis Rodrigues, Avith Lobo and Ajith Peeter D’Souza. A special song was sung by ‘Sangeeth Ras’ Lancy Noronha. The ever green Konkani song ’Sophia’ was sung by one of the most popular singers of UAE. Joseph Mathais. A Baila Session was conducted by Melwyn Dsouza, ‘Rai Kogul’ Robin Sequeira and Sandra with music by Noel.
Modern Architecture of Vamanjoor church Msgr A.F.D’souza was remembered on this function, Fr.Walter narrated Msgr Alexanders service to society and particularly to Vamanjoor church.
The program was compered by Darrel Vamanjoor.
Many Vamanjooreans as well as friends and families were present for the program. President Mr.Jhonson Monteiro thanked all those who involved for the success of this event, programs conclude with baila dance.
