Mumbai: St John Konkani Association launched at Marol parish

Mumbai, 10 Sep 2015: St John Konkani Association was launched at St John Evangelist parish, Marol, Andheri (East) during Monti Fest celebrations here on Tuesday September 8.

 

The parish priest Fr Edward D’Souza inaugurated St John Konkani Association during the function held on Tuesday. Fr Aloysius D’Souza, Fr Cyril D;Souza, Fr Edwin Azavedo, Fr Alban D’Souza, Fr Patrick and Fr S Lonappan were present on the occasion.

 

The organizers Mary Fernandes, Sunita A Suvares, Claude Monteiro Modankap, Robin Rodrigues, Elias Fernandes Marol and others offered floral welcome to dignitaries.

 

     

 

The former corporator Clive Dias, Oswald Barnes, Thelma Barnes Chakala, singers Gerry D’Souza Bondel and Harry Sequeira, Sr Victoria, Sr Lizzy, Sr Elsa, Sr Leena and others were also present.

 

Earlier, the little children showers flowers in honor of Infant Mary at the church premises. 

 

Fr Cyril D’Souza SVD from Mulky concelebrated the festal Eucharistic Celebrations along with other clergies and delivered the homily. He also blessed the new paddy sheaves and distributed to the congregation.

 

Mary Fernandes, Thomas Pereira, Rita Coutinho and Sewrine D’Souza read the prayers.  

 

Louis Rodrigues, Walter Lasrado, Clement D’Silva, Flavia D’Sa, Hilda Pereira, Rita D’Souza, Matilda D’Souza and others presented comedy and mimicries during the stage programme.  

 

The women and children presented cultural shows as part of entertainment programme.

 

Fr Edwin said grace before the traditional vegetarian food that was shared amongst the congregation.

 

Thomas Pereira welcomed the gathering. Wilfred Mascarenhas compered the programme. Augustine Suvares proposed vote of thanks.
