Moral Policing : Youth brutally assaulted in Ullal

 

Ullal, 12 Jan 2015: In a moral policing incident reported from Korangipalla near Ullal, a youth was assaulted with lethal weapons by a gang belonging to another community on Sunday, January 11.

 

The injured youth is Padmanabha, a resident of Boliyar who runs a mobile recharge shop in the vicinity.

 

 

According to the sources, Padmanabha who was on his way to attend a wedding ceremony was allegedly assaulted by Siraj, Nissar, Aboobakkar, Ashraf, Basheer, Habeeb and two sons of R H Monu. The locals who tried to resolve the quarrel were also assaulted by the gang.

 

The above identified assaulters are said to be involved in various criminal activities in the region.

 

It is said that Padmanabha was in touch with a girl belonging Muslim community which led to the brutal attack.

 

Konaje police who visited the incident spot set the tight security and registered a case. Padmanabha is being treated at a private hospital in Mangaluru.
