Mangalore, 01 Feb 2013 (DHNS): A Muslim man and a Hindu woman who were travelling in a car were attacked by unidentified miscreants at Pumpwell Circle in Mangalore Thursday night.

Around 7.15 pm, the man and the woman, colleagues in a private company in the city, were assaulted by a group of five to six men. They suffered injuries to the body and face.

“The man had picked the woman from a shop in Pumpwell and the two were on their way to her house when they were attacked,” City Police Commissioner Manish Karbikar told.

The victims could not identify the attackers who fled the spot immediately. Karbikar said the police were yet to find the culprits. It is also not known if  they  belong to any specific organisation.

A case has been registered in the Kadri police station.
