Udupi: TP former president Veronica Cornelio appointed as chairperson of KSDL

Udupi, 27 Nov 2014: The Karnataka state government appointed Taluk Panchayat president and district women’s Congress president Veronica Cornelio as the chairperson of Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL). She is expected to assume the charge at a formal function in Bangalore on December 6. KSDL is the manufacturer of Mysore sandal soap and other superior quality soaps and detergents.
Commenting on the developments, Veronica Cornelio said, ‘The state government has entrusted a responsibility on me trusting my abilities. I am honored and at the same time thankful for this opportunity. I will do my best to discharge my duties diligently.’
Veronica Cornelio, who hails from Kemmannu, is actively involved in social service for the past 20 years. She has served as one of the first woman presidents of Udupi Taluk Panchyat and has been an elected Taluk Panchayat member for the past 2 decades from Uppoor and Padu Tonse constituency. She is currently the president of the district women’s Congress. She was honored with the prestigious district level Karnataka Rajyotsav Award recently.
Veronica Cornelio is also the Co-ordinator, and has played a key role in introducing the Manipal Arogya Card to Konkani-speaking community. She is known for her simplicity, politeness and soft spoken nature.
Veronica Cornelio is also considered as a champion of knowledge with regard to the schemes available from the government, especially for widows, handicapped and the backward classes. Her selfless contribution to the society has widely been acknowledged by various organizations and institutions.
