Karkal: Rotary Club Int’l strives for humanity - Dr Bhaskar

Karkal, 14 Sep 2014: Rotary Club International (RCI) that has over centuries of history known to foster equality, peace and brotherhood among people of diverse faith and culture worldwide. RCI is a union of people who are interested in humanity and social service in the locality by contributing a small portion of their hard earned income towards this cause, said RCI district 3180 governor Dr Bhaskar.
Dr Bhaskar was speaking during the public gathering that was held on his official visit to RCI – Nitte, at Sambhrama hall, here on Saturday September 13.
‘RCI has announced this year dedicated to education by several projects. RXI and education institutions are positively involved in this regard, said Dr Bhaskar.
The national award winner teacher Nitte Laxmikant Bhat and Vanjarakatte School retired teacher Sharada B Poojary were conferred RCI coveted Nation Builder Award, in recognition of their illustrious service.
Rotary Ann’s president Geeta Y Hegde distributed financial assistance to physically-handicapped students.
The assistant governor M G Nagendra, commandant Joseph Kundar were present on the dais.
RCI – Nitte past president Anil Kumar, N Tukaram Shetty, Vishnumurti Rao and Satish Rao introduced the dignitaries. The secretary Dr Ramesh Mittantaya proposed vote of thanks.
RCI – Nitte president Yogish Hegde presided and welcomed the gathering.
