Munich, Germany: October 3rd, Germany’s Unification Day. Crowds flocked to see Octoberfest in Munich. In the middle of the celebration Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation established its European unit.

 

Mr. Rajeev Chitkara, Cultural Officer at the Indian Embassy, ??was the chief guest. Renowned retired professor of Indology Department of LMU University of Munich Dr. Robert Jaidan Bose and Sanatana Academy’s Mrs. Anusha Shastri, Sirigannadakuta Munich President Mr. Sridhara President of Lakshmapur and Frankfurt Rhine Mine Kannada Sangh Sri Vedamoorthy were resent.

 

The chief guests lit the lamp and symbolically inaugurated the Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Europe unit.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajeev Chitkarar said that Yakshagana was never seen before. This is a wonderful art of our India. We are proud to introduce such an ancient art to the world as a legacy.He hoped that this Yakshadhruva organization would be successful.

Dr. Jaidan Bose spoke in pure Kannada. Remembering seeing Yakshagana Bayalata twenty years ago in a small village in Shimoga. I am very happy that all of you who have come far from the motherland have made an effort to introduce this Yakshagana here as well has brought May your efforts be successful.

 

Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Europe President Mr Narendra Shenai said that today is the day of his many years of Mahadashaya, a very happy day, in the coming days Yakshagana performance will be performed all over Europe under the leadership of Yakshagana Guru Ajith Prabhu and mainly to pass on this art to our next generation.

 

On this day, the secretary of the organization and the Yakshagana artist and guru of Germany Mr. Ajith Prabhu, who has been teaching Yakshagana from the cities of Munich, Frankfurt, Nuremberg and Brussels, Belgium for the past one year.

 

He conducted Yakshagana demonstration with the students to introduce the traditional art of Yakshagana. Students step traditionally Learned and participated in the demonstration.

 

In this program, the Guru conducted Chowki Puja on the stage in a very different way and introduced Balagopala, Pithike Streevesha, Tere Oddolaga, Karya Kunita, Abhimanyu Subhadre Samvada with the students traditionally. And then the Yakshagana ballet introduced by Kota Shivaram Karanta from the Yakshagana students performed in the form of children’s "Mayamriga" (Sitapaharana) Yakshagana allegory mesmerized the audience.

 

Notably, 20 percent of the viewers were non-Kannada / German citizens. Watched the program and expressed appreciation for Yakshagana performance and children’s Yakshagana and appreciated the work done by Patla Foundation for artists for art. On this occasion, many parents who watched children’s Yakshagana expressed their interest in teaching Yakshagana to their children in the future. In this regard upcoming events of our Yakshadhruva Foundation, which preserves and promotes the art of Yakshagana across Europe.
