Mangaluru: Nine-year-old tiger ‘Oliver’ of Pilikula Biological Park passes away

Mangaluru, 05 Jan 2022: Oliver, a nine-year-old tiger at Pilikula Biological Park on the outskirts of the city died on the night of Monday.

 

The tiger which was hale and hearty collapsed suddenly. Though he was attended by the veterinary doctors of the zoo immediately, he could not be saved.

 

 

Oliver was one among the two cubs whom Vikrama and Shambhavi duo gave birth to. At present there are 12 tigers in the facility.

 

The samples of organs of the dead tiger are sent to IAH & VB at Bengaluru and IVRI at Uttar Pradesh. For Covid examination, the sample is sent to NIHSAD Bhopal.

 

Director of biological park H J Bhandary said that disinfectants are sprayed inside the area of the animals as well as around it to prevent them from catching any disease.
