Mangaluru, 20 Aug 2020: Citing safety concerns, Rohini Sindhuri, commissioner, Hindu religious institutions and charitable endowment department said that resumption of seva at temples won’t commence any time soon.

It may be recalled that Muzrai Minister had during a recent meeting held at Kukke Subrahmanya Temple said that a decision of resuming seva across temples in the state would be taken after discussion with the health department and other officials.

Sindhuri said that Kota Poojary had discussed the issue with department officials but it was felt that considering the rising coronavirus cases in the state, permitting the same was not possible for the time being. Since physical contact takes place while doing a seva, the devotees can be exposed to risk of infection, she said.
