Uncertainty over KPL matches in Manipal will end in 4 days

Manipal, 15 September 2010: The uncertainty over the speculations on the scheduled KPL matches to be held at Manipal grounds near End Point between September 22 and 24 will be put to rest in another three to four days.
However, the pitch is getting ready as per the plan, informed Mangalore United owner Moideen Bawa.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, after announcing the names of 12 local players, he said the matches to be played at End Point ground are not officially cancelled. The pitch is good and arrangement is in full swing for setting up of gallery at the ground for which material has already arrived from Mysore. The stadium lacks water absorbing capacity unlike the grounds at Bangalore. The selected 12 players will play against original team of Mangalore United in the match to be held on Wednesday. Of which 3 players will be selected to the team. Mangalore United has already conducted the first round of selection matches at Mangalore, in which 44 out of 225 young cricket talents were selected for the second round, he added.
He said during the two days, the 44 selected talents have played matches at MIT grounds here by forming four teams. Asif, Sumith, Nischal and Janardan were heading the four teams, he added.
The team comprises Nischalraj (Captain), Mohammad Sadiq (Vice-Captain), Deepak Shetty, Sandeep Bhandary, Janardan, Mohammed Asif, Brijesh Poojary (Wicket Keeper), Farhana Beary, Sampath, Gaurav, Muneer and Nehal.Udupi Cricket Association President Vasu Sherigar was present.
