Beltangady: Sri Kshetra Dharmastala elephant - Laxmi gives birth to female calf

Beltangady, 02 Jul 2020: The elephant christened as Laxmi that was owned by Sri Kshetra Dharmastala gave birth to a female calf.

 

 

It was sent to Wildlife Sanctuary for mating at Bannerghatta, outskirts of Bengaluru about 2 years ago. It gave birth to a female calf after 20 months of pregnancy on Wednesday July 1.

 

The forest department and Dharmastala state-owned veterinary clinic closely monitored Laxmi during 20 months of pregnancy.
