Son kills ailing father in Udupi
Udupi, 01 Oct 2014: In a rather shocking incident reported from Udupi, a son who was reluctant to take care of his ailing father, killed the latter and smugly buried the dead body to hush up the matter. The police however, have arrested the son.
The deceased is Vasu Naik (75), resident of Kannarukodi in Udupi. According to sources, Mr Naik was killed by his son Prakash on September 21 after a bitter fight between the two. Vasu Naik was rendered immobile after a paralytic stroke, leaving him dependent on Prakash literally. Following this, Prakash used to pick up fights with his father almost every day. Even on September 21, Prakash picked up a fight with his father and in a fit of rage, the prior killed Vasu Naik. To hush up the matter, Prakash is said to have taken the dead body to the nearby forest and buried it.
The matter came to light on September 30, when Vasu Naik’s daughter Prasanni came over to her brother’s house to see her father. On discovering that Prakash had killed her father, Prasanni lodged a complaint with Brahmavar police, who nabbed the culprit, who had reportedly confessed to the crime.
