Revised autorickshaw fares in Udupi district from April 1

 

Udupi, 01 Mar 2014: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has revised the fares of autorickshaws in Udupi district with effect from April 1 this year.

 

After considering demand for the upward revision of auto rickshaw fares put forth by the auto rickshaw operators from the district, authority has given its nod for hiking the auto rickshaw fares to a minimum of Rs 25 up to 1.5 km, and Rs 16 for every km thereafter.

 

The auto rickshaw drivers and owners have been instructed to compulsorily fix flag meters to their vehicles, and get the same recalibrated or sealed by the legal metrology department before March 31, to be able to collect auto fares at the revised rates from April 1 onwards, the administration added.
