Temple burgled, jewellery worth Rs 8 lakh stolen

Belthangady, 20 June 2010: Miscreants broke the door of Kolli Sri Durga Devi Temple which is situated 20 km away from taluk on Friday night and stole gold jewellery worth Rs 8 lakhs. However, they did not carry the silver ornaments. 

 
 Temple Chief Priest Shankaranarayana has lodged a complaint.  Puttur ASP Amith Singh visited the temple and ordered a high level investigation. Sniffer dog and finger print experts were pressed into service.
