Anutthama and Manasa lead in the State Under 10 & 14

Mangalore, 02 October 2011; On the first day of  the State Under 10 and 14 Chess selection trials which are being organized by King’s Academy, Mangalore on behalf of Karnataka State Chess Association (Affiliated to Chess Association of India) being held at Derik’s Chess School, Mangalore, top seeded Anutthama A and Manasa Karanth were in the joint lead in the boys and girls categories respectively in the State Under 10 chess selection trials.

 


 
Other players in the lead in boys category after two rounds with 2 points are: Harroop Singh Goindi, Adithya J D’silva, Ninaad P S, Niranjan Rajeev, Sanjay Kulal and Ramik Kumar.
 
In girls category, Poorvi Adappa and B Akhila have scored two points each to share the lead with Manasa.
 
More than 40 players are participating in the selection trials.
 
Three more rounds will be played on Sunday to decide the qualifiers to represent Karnataka in the CAI’s National under 10 chess championship.
