Udupi: Rain gets rough, causes damage
The rain gets rough slowly on Sunday and Monday, again causing erosion at Udyavara Padukare. Though the erosion took place there 2 weeks ago, then the rocks were put in place and the erosion had reduced. But the rain on Sunday night has caused erosion on either side of this area for about 25 meter length and the concrete fisheries road and the 2 electric light poles are in danger.
On Monday tree fell on the house of Kamala Poojary a resident of Erwathuru of Karkala Taluk, causing damage worth of about Rs. 15,000. Similarly, lightening hit at the house of Rama of Kambada Kone of Kundapura Taluk causing damage worth of about Rs. 5,000 and jag fruit tree branch fell over the house of Manjunatha Acharya of Kalthodu Grama of Kundapura Taluk causing damage worth Rs. 5,000.
Kundapura: Cheating with a assurance to double the money
A case of cheating of lakhs of rupees has taken place with a assurance to double the money in Kundapura. Person got cheated is Subrahmanya S. who is running a Computer Training Institute at Bhandarkars College Road.
Nagarajappa and Glen Rebello the residents of Bangalore met Subrahmanaya and assured him that they will invest the money in a high profit making business and will double the money in 3 months and took Rs. 2,10,000 from him on 2nd February. But after he paid them the money they are not available for contact. So far they have not paid the invested amount or the profit and have cheated him, complained Subrahmanya in Kundapura Police Station.
Hebri: Illicit liquor caught along with the accused
Illicit liquor along with the accused has been caught in Shivapura Grama of Heberi. Police S.I. Santhosh Shetty getting the information that a local resident Sanjeeva Shetty is selling liquor in front of a Cashew Factory belonging to Mohandas of Elagoli, raided along with his staff and arrested him along with the liquor bottle and cash Rs. 150. The case has been registered in Hebri Police Station.
Kundapura: Police Staff Gurudas gets selected for National Yoga competition
Gurudas, a Staff of Baindoor Police Station won award in the Yoga competition for men’s age group 25 – 40 conducted by Karnataka State Amateur Yoga Sports Association on June 2 and 3 in Doddaballapura, Bangalore. He is now selected for the National level Yoga competition to be held in Dharmastala. His achievement has been appreciated by Udupi district SP Dr. Ravikumar Y. S. and also Additional SP Venkateshappa. Gurudas is originally from Thaggarse Grama of Bandoor.
