Udupi: Rotary Club organizes competition on planting paddy saplings at Pajaka

Udupi, 19 Jul 2014: At the joint aegis of Rotary Club International (RCI) – Shankarapura and RCI – Kunjargiri, organized the competition on planting saplings of paddy, to encourage the new generation of youth in order tot take interest in farming, at the paddy field of Ravindra Rao, near Banatirta, Pajaka, here recently.
 
 
Out of thirteen participants, three women were declared winners.
 
 
The cash prizes were presented to all the winners.  The household appliances were presented as consolation prizes to all the participants. The programme sponsor Canute Aranha distributed the prizes.

 

 
 
RCI district 3180 assistant governor – zone III M G Nagendra, RCI – Kunjargiri president Sarita Harischandra and RCI both Shankarapura and Kunjargiri were present.
 
The progressive farmers Ravindra Rao and Prakash Bhat were the jurors of the competition.  Both Ravindra and Prakash expressed happiness over RCI for organizing the competitions to encourage rural women.
 
 
RCI – Shankarapura president Jerome Rodrigues welcomed the gathering.  The secretary Clifford D’Mello proposed vote of thanks.
