Udupi: Various Associations inaugurated in St. Lawrence Composite PU College, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’belle, 25 June 2014: Co-curricular and extra-curricular associations were inaugurated in St. Lawrence Composite PU College including St. Lawrence Kannada Medium High School on Wednesday, 25 June 2014 at 3 pm in the PU College Hall. Mrs. Sarita D’Souza, Principal of St. Lawrence Degree College, Moodubelle was the chief guest. Mrs. Chandrakala BE-In charge Principal of St. Lawrence PU College and Mrs. Hilda Aranha-Senior Teacher of St. Lawrence Kannada Medium High School were on the dais.
The associations were formally inaugurated by the chief guest, Mrs. Sarita D’Souza by lighting the lamp. Thereafter the leaders of various associations placed lighted lamps on the edge of the stage on the letters in Kannada improvised with the small leaves that read “Sanghagalla Udgathanne” (Inauguration of Associations).
The various associations that help in promoting a proper understanding among the students other than their regular studies include: Health and Sports, Environment, Science, Consumer Awareness, Children’s Right, School Parliament, Young Students Movement (YSM), Scouts and Guides, National Service Scheme (NSS) and Red Ribbon.
Following the inauguration, the various associations presented the aims and objectives as well as glimpses of their activities on the stage.
In her address, Mrs. Sarita D’Souza greatly appreciated the presentation by the members of the various associations and wished all the association a fruitful year activities. She said that these associations will help the students to manifest their hidden talents and progress in life along with their studies.
At the end, the student leaders of various associations took oath of office.
Students Divya and Padmashri respectively welcomed and proposed the vote of thanks and Mrs. Sunita Kamat compeered the programme.
