Udupi: Leopard strayed into Manipal University Campus Rescued

Udupi, 10 April 2014: A leopard that strayed into the campus of Manipal University was rescued after five-hour operation here on Wednesday April 9. It indeed created commotion at the location by a large number of onlookers.
The leopard was cited at the backyard of KMC staff quarters, Manipal, here on Wednesday April 9 early morning. The wardens informed both the police and forest department. The police personnel and the foresters arrived on the spot and managed to rescue the leopard with the help of locals, which took nearly five-hour.
The female leopard is about 7-year-old 5 feet in length and three-and-a-half feet height. It was taken to Kudremukh National Park and set free there, informed forest officers.
