Dynamic youth leader Ms Ashley DSouza felicitated at her native Mount Rosary Church

Udupi: Miss Ashley D’Souza, a recipient of the ‘Young ‘Achiever National Youth Award’ was honoured in her native parish, Mount Rosary Church in Santhekatte, Kallianpur, following her achievements. The event in Jabalpur highlighted her exceptional contributions, reflecting her dedication and impact, and her community proudly celebrated her accomplishments in a heartfelt ceremony.
Immediately after the 8.00 am Holy Mass, on Sunday, 3rd November, 2024, the ICYM - Udupi Diocesan Director Rev Fr Steevan Fernandes as the main celebrant, the Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council Mrs Priya Furtado, in the citation gave a brief introduction of the Youth Leader at various levels.
The parish priest Rev Dr Roque DSouza, while appreciating informed ‘Miss Ashley D’Souza is recognized not only for her National Youth Award but also for her exceptional leadership and organizational skills as a youth leader. Her ability to inspire and mobilize others has made a significant impact, earning her respect and admiration both locally and nationally’.
‘Miss Ashley D’Souza’s leadership journey is remarkable, particularly as a young woman making strides across various levels. Her roles as a youth leader at the parish, deanery, diocesan, and Karnataka state levels have been widely appreciated and recognized. Her contributions demonstrate her dedication and influence within the community, making her a role model for aspiring youth leaders across the region’. Rev Fr Steevan Fernnades, ICYM Diocesan Director recalled his days in Mount Rosaryas Assistant Parish priest and ICYM unit about two years ago and her maturity to be a hardworking, humble and meticulous leader.
In the presence of laity leaders of the parish, during her felicitation at Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte, Kallianpur, Miss Ashley D’Souza was honoured with a traditional shawl, bouquet, and memento. ‘These tokens symbolized the community’s pride and admiration for her accomplishments and her dedication as a youth leader,’ Rev Fr Oliver C Nazareth, who conducted the short beautiful felicitation programme, informed.
In her heartfelt thank-you speech, Miss Ashley D’Souza expressed deep gratitude to everyone who supported and encouraged her throughout her journey. She acknowledged the invaluable role of her parents, brother, church clergy, youth directors, and parishioners, recognizing their constant support as instrumental in her achievements as a youth leader.
