Schoolgirl meets with road accident - requires support

24 September 2010: Keerthana B K, a student of Infant Jesus School, Chikmagalur met with an accident and got her leg cut. Though she was rushed to the local hospital it was not possible to save her leg. Immediately, she was rushed to Mangalore to Fr. Muller’s Hospital and after long hours of surgery, the doctors have given us the assurance that the leg could be saved. Rods are put inside the leg and the girl is experiencing lots of pain.
It may be noted that Keerthana being a deaf and dumb girl, no school would admit her. The Infant Jesus School took a challenge and admitted Keerthana in the school last year for LKG and this year she is in UKG. Her education is totally sponsored by a well-wisher of the school. Keerthana is a very good dancer and very good in writing though she cannot read. Keerthan has to undergo plastic surgery as there is no flesh in that particular leg.
