Udupi: Polio-affected Youth Seeks Support from Generous Donors

Udupi, 09 Jan 2013: A youngster had the aspiration to put in hard work and lead self-sufficient life, care for his mother and get marry-off her sister. However, all those aspirations have waned when he suffered polio attack in his early schooling.
He is none other than thirty-nine-years-old Suresh Kumar, son of the late Monappa Mukhari and Deyee, native of Ulloor that comes under the purview of Kemmundelu village and under Yellur gram panchayat, near here, who was affected by polio when he was nine-years-old and studying in class III. The timely medical intervention would have saved him from polio attack. Meanwhile, the surgeons advised him to undergo hip surgery that was done at a cost of Rs 3 lac by borrowing from neighbours and extended family relatives.
However, Suresh is faced with kidney malfunctioning, besides developed breathing difficulty, since a few months. He was admitted to district Government Hospital and later taken to a private hospital in town. The surgeons recommended further surgeries at huge amounts.
Suresh has the determination to lead self-sufficient life after the surgery, but lack the funds to meet the cost of surgeries. His brother Santosh works as a mason and also a sole earning member in the family of 7 members. He has 2 sisters of marriageable age and their mother. His sister also lives with them along with her two children.
The kind-hearted individuals with social concern are urged to contribute their mite towards the surgeries of Suresh who has a hope to lead independent life and sustain his family.
