Dubai: Mount Rosary Gulf Association celebrates Monti Feast

Dubai, 19 September 2010: For the first time ever Mount Rosary Gulf Association celebrated Monti feast in all its splendor . The event was held in Dubai at Al Mas Hotel Apartments. And as expected the party hall was filled with fellow parishioners, all fully enthusiastic to celebrate the birthday of Mother Mary. Monti Feast commemorating the Nativity of our Mother Mary and the blessing of newly produced crop is regarded as a happy family festival where families and communities come together for a joyful celebration.
The programme commenced at 12.30pm with a welcome speech by Ronald Saldanha . Our Parish Priest Rev. Father Philip Neri Aranha’s message to wish all Mount Rosarians residing in UAE was read out on the blessed occasion. The Altar was decorated with flowers around the beautiful image of Mother Mary , where everyone gathered with all children carrying trays of flowers to shower Mother Mary while singing the Hymns “Moriake Hogolsian and Sakkad Sangatha Melyam” which echoed the premises , the rhythm feeling the air creating a blessed ambience.
Selection of the much needed committee was unanimously agreed during the occasion . the committee members are as follows :
Denis D’Souza (Founder President), Ronald Saldanha , Rupert Pereira , Ronald Cornelio , Hcyintha Andrade ,Wilson D’Sa, Tripti Cornelio ,Nelson Cornelio , Tony Saldanha ,Oswald Crasto ,Rueben Rebello, Brian Correa and Rajesh D’Souza , The selected members are expected to run the activities of the association to achieve its objective.
The event was then handed over to Rueben Rebello who entertained the entire crowd with fun filled games . Games were held for all categories. The Couple game was really funny where all Ladies had to dress their partners as Women and all Men had to walk the ramp. The all time favorite Housie Housie was conducted . Prizes were distributed by our senior parishioners Mr. Ronald Cornelio and Mrs.Hcyintha Andrade.
Finally a Scrumptious buffet traditional lunch in Mangalorean cuisine with sweet Vorne and pathrade added to the delicacy of the food by Canara Restaurant Dubai was served to all .Contributions towards St. Vincent de Paul Society ( Charitable Trust for the underprivileged) were collected from every member present in the Hall . The proceedings would be transferred to the Trust account by the newly appointed committee.
The Day concluded with Thanksgiving and a new Hope to have more such gatherings to strengthen our catholic faith and bringing us more close to each other.
