Udupi: Representatives of Social Organisations of Minority Communities organize get-together

Udupi, 02 Feb 2014: A get-together of representatives of Social Organisations of Minority Communities and Decennial celebration of magazine ‘Samparka’ was organised by Udupi District Minority forum on 1 February 2014 in the Muslim Welfare Society Hall Udupi.

Alphonse D’ Costa, president of Udupi District Minority Forum presided over the function. Janab Hemzad Hejmady delivered the keynote address in which he stressed the need of unity of minority communities. He asked the members of various organisations to spread the awareness of legal rights among the minority communities.

 

 

During the programme the president of Kote Panchayat, Prashanth Jathan and Rajyotsva awardee Ms. Remedia D’ Souza were felicitated.

The “Samparka” decennial issue published by Vedike and edited by Dr Gerald Pinto was released by the guest Janab Hemzad Hejmady.

Alphonse D Costa welcomed the members, secretary B Kasim proposed the vote of thanks and Louis Almeida compeered the programme. Past President Kateeb Abdul Rasid was also present.

Representatives of the following organisations attended the function: Muslim Welfare Association,  Jamatul Falah, Muslim Okkota, Popular Front, Catholic Sabha, International Christian Federation, Stree Sanghattan and  Konkani Sanghattan.
