Kuwait: ‘Goans–Making a Difference’ Book Release takes Indian Community into Season’s Mood

Kuwait, Jan 27, 2014 : A group of Indians from Goa, Karnataka, Mumbai and from the axis of India’s north-south-east-west divide assembled for a simple ribbon cutting ceremony to release the second edition of a Book titled ‘Goans – Making A Difference’, published by Hazel Fernandes and edited by C Gaspar Almeida. This book was published since 2010 by longtime Goan residents in Kuwait, backed by various business and enterprising Indians supporting the cause to ensure to highlight all.
It has been a little nearer to being more than three years since the first edition of this book presented readers with the friendly outlook and in a comprehensively informative book on some of the personalities in their respective professional trades that took the expatriate community, more specifically Goans, among others Indians, focused and appreciated. It was a reference made by Pascal B. Pinto, the chief guest for the occasion, who were welcomed together with his wife, and presented with floral bouquets, that all those involved in the publishing and editing were gratefully highlighted and the book did turn out to be lucid and palatable.
Pascal B Pinto mentioned that those who have waited for scouts to carve the path will find the road paved and tested, to venture more into highlighting other Goans andthe Konkani speaking community members, among Indians for their efforts and sincere dedication. Among many who are featured, for those who will read and appreciate that the knowledge discovery, causal explanations and focus towards issues of Goa and Goans in tackling new challenges in their respective spheres. It is just an effort which was initiated by Gaspar Almeida way back in 2010, through the cooperation of William Fernandes and Hazel Fernandes. At a brief ceremony Pascal B Pinto – one of the diehard Konkani enthusiast from the Konkan belt, made sure that his love for the language, Konkani, and Goa among his native Mangalore from the Konkan region is very dear to him. In appreciation to one and all for their cooperation and to all those who have supported this cause to focus on the Goans – the young, retired and also those who are no more amongst us too, who had made a mark with their efforts and voice to benefit the Indian community through many social issues throughout the GCC region. Hazel Fernandes, ensured to gratefully acknowledge the media and also the internet forums to thank all, and stated that she feels proud of everyone supporting including Indian business community in whatever way possibly they could on such a short notice.
The print copies of the book ‘Goans – Making a Difference,’ which is published all those involved hail from a pristine and environmental conscious village from Parra in the Bardez Taluka – the State of Goa, India, which will soon see the Games ‘Lusofonia 2014’ whose logo and message was relayed to all worldwide by none other than the legendary sportsman Milka Singh.
In his brief speech Pascal B Pinto in conjunction with William Fernandes, and in continuation Gaspar Almeida stressed on the need that being the flag bearers of India, Goans will ensure that the next soon-to-be released edition in 2014 will make it a point to have more of the personalities contributing their might in all that is worthy to be focused and to enhance the support for Goans – to Make a Difference, in a humble manner.
