Two classical dancing Couples mesmerized the Abu Dhabi Audience at Soorya Festival

Abu Dhabi, 24 Nov 2013: The two dancing couples Sridhar and Anuradha the awarding winning Bharatnatyam Couples and Arupa and Bijan the finest Odissi dancers provided a memorable classical concert and mesmerized the large number of audience. The most renowned Soorya Classical Concert was organized in association of UAE Exchange under the leadership of Mr. Sudheer Kumar Shetty (COO – Global). The Chief Patron of Soory Festival is Padmashree Dr. B.R. Shetty however was not present due to his business commitments outside the country. The concert was held at India Social and Cultural Centre Abu Dhabi on Wednesday 20 November 2013 and enjoyed by large number of musical lovers.
The grand Soorya Festival founded by well-known Classical figure in the globe Mr. Soorya Krishnamoorthy. The Soorya Festival under the banner the Dancing Couples was attended by renowned dignitaries, Dilip Rata from World bank and officials from Russian, Fiji and Turkish embassies. Also attended by local community leaders Mr. Sarvotham Shetty (President, Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangha), Mr. Shekar Shetty (Arab Restaurant Group), Mr. Ronald Pinto (Hysna International).
The First Part of the program was Bharatnatyam Dances by Sridhar and his Wife Anuradha. Sridhar is from Bangalore and has acted in more than 50 Kannada Movies and he is also a Karnataka Rajyostava Awardee and has won special award for his Malayalam Classic “ Manichitraathazhu “.
Prior to the beginning of the event Mr. Sridhar thanked Mr. Sudheerkumar Shetty for his unlimited support and also thanked ISC officials and briefly explained the dance compositions and introduced the artists.
The first part of the event was Bharatnatyam Performance by Mr. Sridhar and his wife based on Mahabharat. The role of various Bharatnatyam figures and episodes were wonderfully performed by duo which mesmerized the crowd and it was an hour long performance done with grace, various movements of dances with the backgrornd classical music.
The second session was Odissi Dances by Bijan Kumar Palai and Arupa Gayatri Panda who are great achievers in Odessi dance and have performed all over the globe had the audience captivated with their magnificent dance performances. It was an hour teat of pure classical dance extravagnza and a most memorable one. Their performance was greatly applauded at end of every episode and thoroughly enjoyed one and all.
Bijan was recipient of Rajive Gandhi Award from Government of India and performed classical Odessi dances in Japan, Mayanmar, Germany and Belgium to name a few. He has done Masters in Music and Odessi dance securing first division. Arupa also has achieved great feets in dancing performances and performed in USA, Canada, China and South Africa to name a few. She is also proud recipient of Silpeshree award and Birsha Munda Fellowship from Human Welfare Social Organization from Mumbai. She teaches Odessi dance since last ten years.
The emcee of the concert Ms. Shruti Shetty introduced all the artists, presented background dance themes and compositions and able conducted the entire program.
All the artists were honoured at the end of the magical performances. Mr. Sudhir Kumar Shetty applauded the artists and presented with them the gift hampers.
