Udupi: Moodubelle man’s credit card cloned, swiped in Saudi

Udupi, 16 Nov 2013: A credit card belonging to a Moodubelle resident here was reportedly hacked in Saudi Arabia and swiped to buy items worth more than Rs 77,000.
The credit card belongs to Valerian Lobo of Moodubelle.
Valerian had opened a savings account in Axis Bank and was issued a credit card. On October 6 and 7, an unknown person in Saudi Arabia is said to have swiped a cloned copy of his credit card to buy items worth Rs 77,456.58.
Though the purchase was done in October, it came to Valerian’s notice only last week. He then enquired with the bank and was told that the card was swiped in Saudi Arabia.
Valerian has filed a case in Udupi police station in this regard.
