Mumbai: Racing Buffalo owner Sadashiv Salian bags Karnataka Rajyotsav Award - 2013

Mumbai, 01 Nov 2013: P Sadashiv Salian, the owner of ‘Nagaraja’ named prized Kambla buffalo that bagged several gold and silver medals in the Kambla, buffaloes race in the undivided Dakshina Kannada (DK) district will be presented with Karnataka Rajyotsav Award – 2013.
Kambla, the heroic sport of undivided DK got its due recognition with Rajyotsav Award. Nagaraja, the ace racing buffalo indeed brought fame to its owner Sadashiv Salian, a native of Payyottu in Mulky, Mangalore taluk.
Sadashiv is the proprietor of Lalith Hotel, Goregaon (West), here. He was the former director of Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited, a multi-state scheduled bank.
Its tragic that the winning buffalo died on June 6 2009 owing to advanced age but found healthy except a few teeth waned away, said Sadashiv who had a strong bond with his racing buffalo - Nagaraj.
