Udupi/M’belle, 15 Oct 2013: A study tour for the science students of St. Lawrence PU College, Moodubelle was organized on 10 October 2013 with a view to give them exposure in the fields of health and engineering.
The students first visited Fr. Muller’s Medical College and Hospital. Fr. Rudolf D’Sa, the Administrator of Fr. Muller’s Medical College provided a lot of information to the students by using Power Point presentation. He explained various opportunities available in the field of health.

The Italian Jesuits played an important role in education, health, and social welfare of the Mangalorean Catholic community and built the St. Aloysius College in 1880, St Aloysius Chapel in 1884, and many other institutions and churches.
St. Aloysius College Chapel is an architectural marvel that could stand comparison with the chapels of Rome. What makes this chapel unique compared to the other chapels in the country is the beautiful paintings that cover virtually every inch of the walls. Bro. Moscheni from Italy is the creator of this master piece. One portion of the chapel paintings depicts the life of Aloysius Gonzaga to whom Aloysius College and chapel are dedicated. Saint Aloysius gave his life in the service of others.
From St. Aloysius College, the students went to Cordel Church where they had lunch and thereafter proceeded to St. Joseph’s Engineering College. Fr. Ajith D’Souza, Assistant Director welcomed the students. Dr. Vincent Crasta, Head of the Department of Physics explained the students the various courses available in the engineering field such as Mechanical, Computer, Electrical and other Engineering Courses. The students liked the beautiful campus of the college.
The above three institutions visited by the students help St. Lawrence PU College in conducting CET Coaching for its science students.
The students were accompanied by Fr. Paul Sequeira, Principal of St. Lawrence PU College, lecturers-Santosh , Dileep and Mrs. Alvina and Mrs. Christine and Mrs. Amitha. 76 students of both First Year and Second Year PU Science participated in the educational tour which was organized by Santosh, lecturer of Mathematics.
