Kundapur: K K Kalavarkar, Veteran Litterateur Chosen as Chairman for 13th Taluk Kannada Sammelan

Kundapur, 5 Oct 2013: K K Kalavarkar, senior litterateur, movie actor and multifaceted personality was unanimously elected as chairman of Kundapur taluk thirteenth Kannada Sahitya Sammelan, that will be held at Siddapur, near here on December 8.

 

The taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Kundapur Narayan Karvi said that K K Kalavarkar, elderly litterateur was chosen to be chairman for the forthcoming Sammelan owing to his great contributions to Kannada literature, social service and farming, while presiding over the preliminary meeting held on the occasion.

 

 

The reception Committee president Gopalakrishna Kamat urged the people to attend the Sammelan that was organized in Siddapura, near here which is renowned in business, education and religious sphere in large numbers. 

 

The taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat secretary K G Vaidya explained the responsibilities of sub-Committees.

 

The retired principal Subramanya Joshi who strived for the success of earlier Sammelan, Dr Srikant Rao Siddapura, Panduranga Pai, Kishore Kumar Kodgi, Ramesh Shetty, Dr Jagdish Shetty and others were present on the occasion.

 

Kannada Sahitya Parishat Shankaranarayan unit president Halady Manjunat Kamat welcomed the gathering.  Pandurang Pai compered the programme.
