Special trains for Velankanni fest

Mangalore, 05 August 2010: Southern Railway will operate special trains on the Vasco-da-Gama-Nagapattinam-Vasco-da-Gama to clear the extra rush in connection with the Velankanni Festival. The train will operate via Mangalore junction (Kankanady), Palakkad, Erode and Tiruchchirappalli. Train 0675 Vasco-da-Gama - Nagapattinam special will leave Vasco-da-Gama on Mondays at 7.45 pm on August 23, 30, September 6, 13, and 20 and arrive Nagapattinam at 8.05 pm on the next day.
Train 0676 Nagapattinam-Vasco-da-Gama special will leave Nagapattinam on Tuesdays at 10 pm on August 24, 31, September 7, 14, and 31 and reach Vasco-da-Gama at 8.30 pm the next day. The composition of the trains will be one AC two-tier, one AC three-tier, nine sleeper class, five general second class, one luggage-cum-brake van coach and one general second class coach with an exclusive portion for physically challenged persons.
The trains will stop at Madgaon, Canacona, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Kundapura, Udupi, Surathkal, Mangalore junction, Kasargod, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalasery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Karur, Tiruchchirappalli, Thanjavur and Tiruvarur. Advance reservation for the above trains commenced on august 3.
