Udupi: Retd Principal Laxmibai urges Women to include Children in traditional Celebrations

Udupi, 21 Jul 2013: ‘The Indian cultural hierarchy should be informed to the new generation. The taste of new dishes should not be limited to a few days; instead it has to be taught to the children to learn the culinary skills at home. The traditions and cultures has to be introduced to the new generation to sustain them for posterity, said A Laxmibai, retired principal of S V S Pre-University College, Katpady, near here.
Laxmibai was the chief guest speaking at the food festival of Aati season, a distinct celebration of coastal district that was organized by Mahila Mandal of Shirva, near here on Saturday July 20.
The peace and happiness will reign in families, if the women involve their children in traditional games and celebrations, said Laxmibai.
Babita Aras, president of Mahila Mandal, presided the programme.
The public celebration of Ganeshotsav Committee president K Sundar Prabhu, Kusuma Shenoy was the chief guests of the occasion.
Ganga S Kamat conducted the quiz of Aati season.
The village elders Tammanna Poojary, Venkatesh Kamat, Jayaprakash Suvarna and Geeta Wagle Bantakal were also present.
Kusuma Shenoy rendered the prayers. Veena Chandrashekar welcomed the gathering. The secretary Malati Moodittaya read the report. Jayasri J Shetty compered the programme. Vasanti Gopal proposed vote of thanks.
Over 21 distinct Tulunadu dishes and delicacies of Aati season that were prepared by the members of Mahila Mandal was shared by the gathering at the occasion.
Everything is excellent..... but mahila mandals should teach younger generation how to obey Pavitrya in our prapancha,samsara and human relations....because in evrything there is no transperacy today.
