Udupi: Burglay at Fakiranakatte, Mallar Village; 10 Sovereign Pound Gold Decamped

Udupi, 16 Jun 2013: The burglars burgled a house located at Fakiranakatte, in Mallar village that comes under the limits of Kaup police station and decamped with gold ornaments and cash, on Friday June 14.
The burglars broke open the wooden frame of widow to gain entry into the house and decamped with 4 gold bangles, 3 gold rings, one small bangle and bracelet altogether worth 10 sovereign pounds and cash money of Rs 2,000; all that was placed in the cupboard.
Although Nazir Ahmed was woken up from his sleep during the burglary, the burglars banged the cupboard-door on him and fled from the scene.
The same group of burglars also tried to burgle a house owned by a certain Zakir Hussein, which comes under the limits of Shirva police station on the same night. The burglars cut off the hinges of kitchen door using welding-rod and gained entry inside, ransacked the bedroom and cupboards without success.
Kaup sub-inspector Archana K, Shirva sub-inspector K R Naik, crime sub-inspector Rajendra Naik, fingerprint expert Harischandra, sniffer-dog personnel visited the spot.
The cases are registered at Kaup and Shirva police stations. The investigations are under way.
