Kundapur: Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake inaugurates new Academic Year At St Mary’s PU College

Kundapur, 15 Jun 2013: The state urban development and Udupi district-in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake inaugurated the new academic year at St Mary’s Pre-University College, here on Saturday June 15.  The minister accorded a warm welcome to the new students and urged them to study and be responsible citizens of our nation and wished them good luck.

Prior to the event a prayer dance with singing was peformed by the students followed by welcomed the gathering and guests with a beautiful welcome dance.  The principal of the college Rev. Fr. Praveen Amrith Martis officially welcomed the Minister Mr. Sorake and the dignitaries and guest present on the occasion and said that provide good education is our sole purpose and we will put maximum efforts in reaching our goals he said.

 

 

Minister Mr. Sorake addressing the students while inaugurating the new academic year with a flower said that this is a beautiful flower and you too dear students should study well and increase your beauty and brighten your future like a beautiful flower.  Me a new minister and you are new students and I wish you all the best and you should study hard and become the best students.  Today to develop our personality and standard, the education is a must.  Pre University is education of the good future.  Hence you must study well and bring good name and accords to the college you are studying and he further said “Education Develops Personality, Education institution is like a mirror of the society” .  He also praised the Catholics and their educational institutions and said that “ The Catholics have provided education to the community wherever it was lacking and have provided good education to all sections of the society”.

St. Mary’s Pre-University College correspondent and Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza honored the minister Sorake with a traditional shawl and thanked him for inaugurating the new academic year and addressing the students he said that you have to dedicate yourself to the education and should obtain good education and leave the college with honour and as a good citizen. Also on the occasion Fr. Anil released Blossom, the college bulletin.

St Mary’s Pre-University College principal Fr Praveen Amrut Martis felicitated the donors who contributed for bridge course. Fr Praveen welcomed the gathering.  The vice principal Manjula Nair proposed vote of thanks.  II PUC student Ansita Mendonca compered the programme.

The wonderful dance/cultural programmes were held after the stage programme.
