Kundapur: Incessant Rains leaves Trail of Havoc across Taluk

Kundapur, 12 Jun 2013: The torrential rains that have been lashing across the taluk since Monday June 10 morning, caused flash-floods in several villages, inundated low-lying areas and also flooded farmlands.
The torrential rains and heavy winds uprooted a huge mango tree and a palm tree on the cow-pen owned by a certain baker Rajendra Bhandarkar at about 11.30am on Tuesday. Both the trees just missed by a fraction from falling on the house of Bhandarkar family who were miraculously survived in incident.
The flash-floods inundated low-lying regions on Tallur, Uppinakudru – Tallur road, Beejady fisheries road, Halavalli – Kome road, causing inconvenience to motorists and daily commuters. The farmlands were inundated at Tekkatte, Kedoor, Ultoor, Asodu, Vakwady and neighbouring villages – Herikudru, Muvattumudi near Mullikatte, Koni, Kumbasi, Mudlakatte.
