Rashid Auditorium on May 3rd 2013 and at ISC Abu Dhabi on 4th May 2013 . The last show was house full and many went home disappointed not getting the tickets.
In preparation for the second show the pre-event meet was held at the Winny’s Restaurant Karama, Dubai on Friday evening amidst gathering of many association members and media representatives. Ronald Olivera welcomed the gathering. The main sponsor of the event Jawahar Castelino, Director, Seasons Middle East, FZE was present including Herman Lewis (Radio Spice 105.4), Alwyn Pinto (Mangalore Konkans), Stan Ageira (Daijiworld), Elias D’Souza (Bellevision) and Cynthia Goveas (Asst Co-ordinator, SMMKC-Sharjah).
The pre-event began with a prayer by Cynthia Goveas invoking God’s blessing on organizers, event management, association members and supporter to accomplish this event successfully.
Ronald Olivera in his introductory speech thanked all the members, guests, well-wishers and prominent personalities present for the event and called upon the main sponsor/event management Jawahar Castelino to the dais and welcomed him on behalf of Wilson Olivera and thanked him for willing to organize the event single handedly. Secondly, he also invited all the guest namely, Herman Lewis, Alwyn Pinto, Stan Ageira, Elias D’Souza and Cynthia Govias on the dais and thanked them for their whole hearted support to the event.
On the question of Wilson’s voice very similar or imitation of Wilfy Rebimbus (the legend Konkani Singer), he clarified that Wilson is not copying Wilfy but he was his role model from childhood and he developed his voice singing his songs and Wilfy Rebimbus himself has blessed him when he met him first time and to carry on with his talent of singing than worrying about voice, The members on the dais too agreed with his opinion and said that each individual is blessed with his own talent and it is not possible to merely copy anyone’s voice but it is a God given golden voice to Wilson Olivera.
Speaking on the occasion Alwyn Pinto (Mangalore Konkans) said that he had met Wilson Olivera during one of the shows held at the St. Agnes Special School and had admired his singing talent. Even the last show in Dubai and it was houseful and hence he requested all members present to sell the tickets well in advance so that no one goes back without watching the show.
Herman Lewis (Radio Spice) also praised for Wilson’s golden voice and said we should not worry about peoples comments and negative approach but move on with our talents. He also suggested to bring about the changes in the program than going with similar programs and said that the change is a must for the success of the events and repetition of same type of singing and esp. honouring the guest and wasting about one to two hours will spoil the show and the people come with paying the tickets will get disappointed to watch all the sponsors on the stage hounoured with flowers and speaches and it is time to cut down these things and only concentrate on good quality programs and presentations. Repling to that Ronald Olivera said yes, there will be a few changes and definitely last show songs will not be repeated and there will be no stage program as this time it is only Jawahar L Castelino is the single sponsor via his event management group Seasons Middle East.
Stan Ageira too spoke on the occasion and said it is not easy to organize any event and wished the organizers all the best and he too opined that the changes in the presentation are very important to the success of the program and to attract more crowds.
The main sponsor Jawahar L Castelino in his address said that this is the first time his event management has ventured into the Konkani program and Wilson Olivera was the first to respond to his request for a program. There are several other programs in the pipeline this year namely, a tulu, a kannada, another Konkani and Wilson Olivera mega event and finally two Hindi Programs of his favourite singers Pankaj Udas and Bhupinder Sing all are being held in line and he hoped for the Olivera Nite our community will support and attend the show in large numbers.
Elias D’Souza (Bellevision) and Cynthia Goveas (SMMKC) also spoke on the occasion and wished the organizers all the best and called upon all the support the organizers.
